Some people complain FulGaz is too hard (others that it’s too easy). This is usually either because they have their settings wrong, or their trainer needs a spindown.
If you’ve not done so already, use the free Wahoo Fitness app to do a spindown. (or the Tacx app for tcx trainers)This resets the trainer’s calibration and can make a big difference.
To perform a spindown, ride for 10 minutes to warm the KICKR up, then open the Wahoo Fitness app / Tacx app, select your trainer then scroll down the screen. You’ll see a button called “Spindown”. Tap on that then follow the instructions.
When you’re done, be sure to quit the this app.
Then and only then, if it still feels too hard to you up the hills, start tweaking the advanced trainer settings. You can find these in Settings > Advanced trainer settings.
The default settings are a starting point. Some people get the bests results through a bit of experimenting. However, once you’ve found something that feels right, try to leave it alone so you get consistent results for rides.
IMPORTANT NOTE ON SPINDOWNS AND CALIBRATION
Once you have done a spindown, it's really important to then quit that app before you use FulGaz. If you don't do this, your trainer will still be paired to that app and FulGaz will not work. In some cases you will also need to "forget" the trainer in the utility app.
