A quick pre-event checklist
- Ensure you are connected to the internet! FulGaz events require an internet connection.
- Download the ride video completely before starting.
- Test your setup - make sure your trainer and connections are all working.
- Only ride the routes from within the French Tour ride channel.
- Plan your ride and rest days!
Finding the French Tour rides
The ride collection will be visible in the top main menu in FulGaz. If you have entered the promo code provided in your registration email and the rides still do not appear, please head to settings, scroll down and tap UPDATE RIDE LIST, then restart FulGaz.
Before the start of the event, each ride will be counting down to the official start time. Once open, you can ride the stages at any time that suits you up until the closing date.
Download ride videos beforehand
For this event, you MUST download the ride videos beforehand. This reduces the strain on your home network and reliance on broadband speeds. You do not need to download all the videos at the start (this would take up a lot of hard drive space).
If you are low on space, we recommend downloading a few in advance, then deleting the file once you have ridden each stage. If you have an older-model iPad or lower-spec computer, consider downloading the rides in 720p resolution video (settings -> video settings) to reduce the load on your device.
NOTE: Please do not create a section of a French Tour ride. Riding a section instead of the actual event ride will not count towards stage or GC leaderboard times.
Riding the stages in order
The stages have been curated and ordered to give what we believe is the best overall experience of riding a Grand Tour on FulGaz, so it is recommended to ride each stage in order. However, you do not need to ride each stage in order.
If you ride out of order, note that your position on the overall GC leaderboard will only update correctly once you have ridden ordered stages.
NOTE: You can re-ride stages, but if you do ride a stage again, it will wipe the previous time.
Riding as part of a team
If you’re riding the French Tour as part of a team, remember that it is a relay race. You only need to ride each stage once between all of your team members.
Make sure you assign the stages to each member before starting the event so that you do not "double up" and re-ride stages. We've often used a Google spreadsheet or shared document so that team members can put their name down for each stage.
Leaderboards
Each stage has it's own leaderboard, a link to this is included in the "congratulations" email that is sent to you after each ride. There is also an overall GC leaderboard that is updated with your total time once you have ridden the stages in order.

Trainers and sensor connections
If your smart trainer and/or sensors are not connecting to FulGaz, firstly please ensure they are not still connected to any other apps or devices (eg: Zwift, Wahoo Fitness, FulGaz on another device, Garmin cycling computer, iPhone, etc). Full reboot both your trainer and device running FulGaz, ensure Bluetooth is enabled and try again. For Android devices, ensure Location Services is enabled.

Running out of gears? Adjust your Slope Scaling!
If you feel like you're running out of gears or the steeper climbs are too tough, you can adjust your Slope Scaling, either before a ride in the settings menu or at any time during the ride by tapping on the "cog" icon in the top right corner of the screen. It's important to note that this does not affect your speed in FulGaz, this is calculated using your watts plus aerodynamics.
