Chat is now available on all group rides!
Feeling social? Introducing our latest feature - FulGaz Chat! You can now chat with other riders on the same group ride, group workout, or event as you by tapping the "chat bubble" icon. You can also join the conversation on a second device by selecting CHAT on the ride's preview screen.
Not feeling social? That’s okay too. All regular FulGaz rides are chat-free, plus you can completely disable the group ride chat feature at any time in settings.
Note for Apple TV: You can view messages on-screen in FulGaz for Apple TV, but to be able to send messages you will need FulGaz installed on a second device logged in with the same account (see the section on "Chatting from a second device" below for details).
SETTING UP CHAT
Before you are able to use chat, you will need to set up your profile and agree to the terms and conditions. You can do this in your FulGaz app's Settings -> Chat -> Configure Chat.
You'll be prompted to update your details, then tick to confirm you agree to use chat.
NOTE: This process cannot be performed on Apple TV. The initial chat account setup needs to be performed on another platform (iPad/iPhone, Android, MacOS or Windows).
In the chat settings you can also customise how the chat appears during rides, including the size of the chat boxes, and how long chats appear on screen once they are sent or received.
CHATTING FROM THE RIDE
To chat to other riders during your group ride, simply tap on the "chat bubble" icon in the lower left corner of the screen. This will bring up the chat box. Type your message, hit enter or the SEND icon, and your chat will be sent to everyone else on the ride!
All chat messages are public and sent to everyone. Chat messages are viewable for 30 minutes, after which point they are deleted. Private messaging is not available.
CHATTING ON A SECOND DEVICE
If you have a second device with FulGaz installed on (eg: a phone) you can send and receive chats on that device while riding on your main device. This is handy for Apple TV, as that platform does not have the ability to send chats (you will still see chats on-screen though).
To use a second device, simply open FulGaz and navigate to the same ride. Instead of hitting RIDE, tap the CHAT button instead.
This will open up the "Chat View" where you can send and receive messages!
We understand that not everyone is going to want to chat during their FulGaz rides, so we've made it easy to completely disable this feature. To opt out of chat:
1. Head into FulGaz Settings -> Chat
2. Select the DISABLE button from the menu
You can opt back in at any time by completing the "Configure Chat" option in settings.
