FulGaz supports a wide range of modern ANT+ and Bluetooth enabled smart trainers, powermeters, smart bikes and other fitness sensors.
While we do our best to offer widespread compatibility, it is impossible for our team to source and test every single model on the market, both past and present, to ensure compatibility. Below is a guide to compatible equipment for FulGaz. To ride on FulGaz with a connected device, your devices will need to broadcast either power or speed over an open Bluetooth Smart or ANT+ signal.
Note: Support for ANT+ is only on Windows. All platforms support Bluetooth. FulGaz is currently available for Windows 10/11, Apple TV, iPhone/iPad, MacOS (Big Sur and above), and Android devices.
Smart Trainers and Smart Bikes
FulGaz is compatible with most modern smart trainers on the market. Wahoo, Tacx, JetBlack and many other big brands are all compatible. If your trainer broadcasts an open Bluetooth Smart signal, then it will most likely connect and communicate with FulGaz. Most smart trainers will broadcast power and cadence (and receive trainer control) over one channel.
Smart bikes such as the Wahoo KICKR Bike, Stages SB20 Bike, Wattbike and Tacx NEO Bike are compatible with FulGaz. Got a spin bike or other model of smart fitness bike? See further down for more information.
Powermeters
If you have a powermeter on your bike, you can use any trainer you like on FulGaz, either wheel-on or direct drive. Your powermeter will broadcast power data (and possibly cadence) to FulGaz. All modern powermeters that broadcast via Bluetooth Smart should be compatible with FulGaz.
Speed and Cadence sensors
At a minimum, you will need a speed sensor mounted to your rear wheel, a cadence sensor alone is not enough for FulGaz. When using a speed sensor, FulGaz will use this data, along with your chosen "virtual trainer" option, to calculate your on-screen power.
For more information on using a speed sensor, please see this article.
Spin Bikes and Gym Bikes
As there are so many different makes and models of spin bikes on the market, it is impossible for our team to source and test them all. Most spin bikes do NOT broadcast standard power and cadence values over an open Bluetooth channel. They tend to be "locked" into their own software.
Generally, spin bikes will not be 100% compatible with FulGaz.
Whilst we have heard from our customers that some models do work, such as certain Keiser brand bikes with their Bluetooth bridging device, the only way to find out for sure is to give it a try!
Please see this article for more information on using spin bikes on FulGaz.
Trainer models that do not work with FulGaz
Unfortunately we are unable to support some smart trainers. Makes and models that are no longer in production should still connect and communicate with FulGaz as long as they meet the requirements listed in the applicable headings above, but future support or updates cannot be guaranteed.
The following models will likely not connect or communicate correctly with FulGaz:
- Computrainer
- Some models of Kinetic trainers
- Most BKOOL trainers
- Renpho AI Smart Bike
- Peloton Bike
- Echelon Bike
- Schwinn 270/570 and most other models
